The book collects all-new, never-before-published art, rarely-seen material, and some sketchbook pages, with most being finished, full-color illustrations.  Previews of the book can be found at http://www.brandstudiopress.com/

Comicon also marks the first announcement of a project Darwyn has passionately pursued for five years, and has now found a home with acclaimed publisher IDW. Chase the exclusive IDW signature cards available at the con and get them autographed by Darwyn at Booth 2207, the IDW booth and the Saturday’s IDW panel.

Throughout the weekend Darwyn will be signing with colleagues Jimmy Palmiotti, Bruce Timm, Tim Sale, and Ed Brubaker. Details can be found in the 2207 signing schedule. Darwyn will also have selected sketches for sale at the booth, and his original comic art is available through Albert Moy at booth #4303

CAMERON STEWART

CAMERON STEWART/WORK  is a 48-page, vibrantly colorful hardback collection of unpublished and never-before-seen pin-up illustrations, many created specifically for this edition. Also available will be WARM-UPS, Cameron’s 2008 Sketchbook (softcover, black and white), a mix of complete illustrations and rough process drawings further showcasing his single-track obsession with cute females.

DAVID  BULLOCK

Animation Director DAVID BULLOCK (credits include the lauded film adaptation of Eisner-winning graphic novel The New Frontier, and the upcoming feature
Star Wars: The Clone Wars) announces the release of BULLOCK- ART WORKS, his first-ever art book at Comicon. The book contains a selection of David’s original, creator-owned artwork, as well as character designs and development art from his work as an animation director, and traditional comic book and pin-up art. In celebration of David’s first cover work for Marvel Comics, “The Age of the Sentry,” series writers Jeff Parker and Paul Tobin, and interior artists Nick Dragotta and Colleen Coover will be at Booth 2207 on Thursday to launch the Sentry’s latest adventures, where they will be autographing an exclusive free Sentry poster. Friday, the creative team behind “The Spectacular Spiderman” animated series, including producer Vic Cook, art director Sean “Cheeks” Galloway, and story artist Adam Van Wyk join series director David at 2207 to sign a free exclusive poster featuring Spidey’s rogues gallery.

David will not be doing commissions during the course of the show, but will be taking a limited number of requests to execute in the weeks following.

LOOK FOR THESE OTHER GREAT ARTISTS THIS YEAR @ COMICCON

For the fourth year in a row, the BLVD studio (booth #2707, across from Dark Horse Comics) will set up their own shop and meet fans on the main show floor. Tommy Lee Edwards (1985, BULLET POINTS), along with Sean Chen (SALVATION RUN, IRON MAN), Trevor Goring (WATERLOO SUNSET, WHAT IF? FALLEN SON), John Paul Leon (DMZ, EARTH X), and Bernard Chang (WONDER WOMAN, DR.MIRAGE), will be selling limited copies of their acclaimed sketchbooks, prints, original art, and commissioned sketches.

For the first time, the group of Jill Thompson (SANDMAN, SCARY GODMOTHER), Brian Wood (DMZ, NORTHLANDERS), and Cliff Chiang (GREEN ARROW & BLACK CANARY, DOCTOR 13) will have their own booth (booth #1322, next to FirstSecond Books). Nestled between the popular publisher and retailer pavilions, their booth provides exceptional convenience and the unique opportunity for attendees to shop at nearby booksellers and have those items signed by the creators. Jill, Brian, and Cliff will also have graphic novels (including rare and out-of-print editions), art prints, original comic art, paintings, framed canvas pieces, tattoo flash and a number of commissioned sketches for sale at their booth. Check out their wares, chit chat and see what’s new!

  1. Holy!

Wow. I can’t go, is there going to be anything for the IFanbase atuck at home> Either way, that’s going to be one kickass video show

Congrats, guys and big ups to all the stars participating. Big ups.

  2. Wow… from 4:00 to 5:00 on the 26th you guys are hosting Ed Brubaker in your booth.

Now, I truly understand what AVARICE is… so I guess that in a way, this has taught me a lesson that even Steinbeck couldn’t. Good on you…

    You lucky, lucky bastards.

  3. Avatar photo Paul Montgomery (@fuzzytypewriter) says:

@Six – Surely, the nerdiest joke ever posted to a comic website.  Well done, lad.

I was in the restroom stall next to Darwyn Cooke’s at NYCC.  Could have taken his portfolio of original art.  But I didn’t.

  4. If I could see the screen through my tears 😉 that would make my day Paper!

  5. nice job guys..This is awesome, I only wish I could be there…There’s always next year  *sigh*

  6. I will be there! Beware…

I’m really psyched. This will be only my second convention (my first was the 1st NYCC). I hope I get a chance to meet you iFanboys in person. I’m a big fan.

I also can’t get enough of all the artists at this booth. I’ve been a huge fan of Cooke ever since Batman: Ego first came out. Genious.  Also, Seaguy is one of the trippiest, purely strange and fun reads out there (next to G0DLAND, of course).

  7. @Six Gun – just to clarify – this is not "our" booth – rather it’s Darwyn, Cameron and Dave’s – we’re just delivering the schedule to everyone…but it’s definitely their booth

  8. Must…have…art…books. Ooh, so glad I’m gonna be at SDCC. This is a definite stop. 🙂

  9. Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you!

I’ll be buying Retroactive from the book site when the the clock strikes! You guys are bloody fantastic!!! I smell a donation coming your way right about… now! (Don’t drink it all up!)Thanks so much for having this scoop and providing the links.

    Clayton.

  10. Gents,

I just wanted to pop on and say thanks for pimping the booth.  We’re pretty excited for the show in all it’s chaotic glory.  I look forward to meeting the IFanBoy unit and anyone that makes it by the booth.

I also wanted to mention that we have extremely limited Sentry prints to give away (40 of them) so If your up for it come by the booth early on the Thursday of the show to reserve one for the 11:00 sigining.  Colleen Coover has been kind enough to put together some cool freebie pins with The Age of The Sentry images on them as well,  so be sure to grab those too!

I just found out the New Frontier movie is nominated for a Prime Time Emmy!   Huh.  Quick, change the to listing to "meet the Emmy nominated…blah..blah…".  If you go for that sort of thing.

See you in SanDiego! It’s going to be a RIOT!

    Bullock

  11. Damn you iFanboys!! Just when I had my schedule all drawn up, now I have to go back to the drawing board to fit this in!

In all seriousness, this is incredible.  I’ll definitely be coming by this booth often and with lots of stuff in tow.

  12. This looks to be awesome. Will for sure be swinging by on Preview night. And how does Mr.Sime seem to weasel his way into everything?

  13. Are you guys gonna interview Joe Casey?

    Please do.

  14. So really Marvel puts that much drawing talent on a Sentry offering?  I’ll onl make it to Preview Night (tonight…so stoked) and Friday, but Friday is looking good for lines to stand in.
