Holy Hotrods, Batman! The Batmobile Gets A Redesign

I've posted about the Evolution of the Batmobile before, but what if there was a little more intelligent design behind the Bat's wheels? The folks over a Car Design Fetish had a contest for redesigns of one of culture's most iconic and variable automotives. Presented below is the winner of the contest followed by a few of my personal favorites but don't take my word for it! Get thee to any of the postings linked to below and scroll through the engineered ecstasy of each submission.

  1. The Dark Knight combat version was pretty awesome …

  2. Wow.  Almost as cool as my 1997 Plymouth Neon.

  3. 1) looks like an updated version of the 60’s TV show
    2) Going for the updated ‘tumbler’ from the Nolan movies. Functional but not aesthetically pleasing, it has a weird shape
    3) A reimagining of today’s Batmobile, although having the thruster on the roof is really stupid. Not great.
    4) My fav out of the bunch. Like the Burton Batmobile but updated for tomorrow, not as good as Quitely’s Batmobile but still pretty awesome

  4. I like #2 the most but it looks like the cars in the Minority Report.

  5. Wow, the second one looks JUST like the Batmobile from “Batman Beyond.”

  6. the first i jut silly unles batman plan on only driving on the highway in a traight line or at the salt flats.

The second one gets it right.

  7. Nicccccccce.

  8. The second is my favorite.

  9. I like the third picture because it’s a great mix of both the Burton Batmoblie and Nolan’s Batmobile.

  10. I’m really into this one:

    I would totally drive that.

Maybe someone could make a Batmobile out of a 1990 SAAB 9000 CD Turbo or Volkswagen Karman Ghia

  11. @TheNextChampion  I agree. The third one is kind of a best of both worlds model.

  12. the third from the top is pretty cool.

I have seen these exact same designs posted in the industrial design areas around my old university

  13. no. 4 wins it for me, i think 3 looks like a duck

  14. No. 1 looks like a dildo that I sell…my vote goes to 3.
