Green Hornet’s Secret Identity is… Peter David?

This gave me a good laugh over the weekend, and I finally got enough photographic evidence to make it worth sharing.

So, apparently comics luminary Peter David wanted to walk the halls of WonderCon this weekend but didn't want to give away the good stuff… actually, maybe I should let him explain it in his own words:

The reason I was attending Wondercon was that Activision brought me out to promote “Spider-Man: Edge of Time.” Since I was out here on their dime, I wanted to make sure that anyone who wanted to see me had to come to the panel. But I didn’t want to be a prisoner of my hotel room for two days.

So I put together a Green Hornet costume and walked around for two days. No one knew it was me…. And best of all, I had conversations with people I’ve known for years and they had no clue who I was.

Peter David IS... the Green Hornet!

"It's great to meet you, Mr. Quesada! I've always been a huge fan of Marvel's books. Especially that X-Factor. Yes sir, everyone I know just loves that X-Factor. It's a shame that talented young writer doesn't get more work."

"Yeah, sure thing, pal. Always nice to meet a fan. Gotta go."

Just something to keep in mind when you're rolling your eyes at that Scarlet Spider on the con floor. That could be Geoff Johns in the powder blue hoodie.

  1. That certainly is something Peter David would do.

Also, best representation of the real attitude with comic creators and their fans.

  2. I saw him at the con!

  3. I’m glad he dressed as Green Hornet, and not Zatanna or Black Canary. There were like 6 of each that I saw. It’s cool that he did this though.

  4. HAHA! Those captions made me laugh out loud. At work.

  5. Peter David rocks. If you’re not reading X-Factor these days, you just don’t know what you’re missing.

  6. Peter David just rocks.  But I gotta thank Seth Rogan for giving us big guys another alternative for us to cosplay as, going with body type.

  7. This just blew my mind. I saw him at just about every panel I went to, and had no idea. Well done Mr. David…

  8. lol

  9. Haha that’s awesome, I’m pretty sure I saw him too and had no clue. Well played sir! Pretty epic idea when you think about it

  10. I saw that Scarlet Spider with his mask off. It was actually Tom Katers.
