Chris Samnee’s Thor Cover Process

Chris Samnee posted his cover process for Thor: The Mighty Avenger Double Rainbow on his blog.  It shows you how he went from this…

to this…

to this…

There are actually plenty of steps in the middle, and anyone interested in process will have a good time looking them over.  It's interesting, because I think a lot of fans just think the covers happen, and the fact is, there's a lot of work, and thought, and trial and error to get to each cover out there.  Go read the whole post on Chris' blog.

  1. I love seeing the process these guys go through.  Thanks for post Josh.

  2. This guys work is sooooo good.  Thanks Josh.

  3. One of my favorite things to do at cons, when possible, is to hang out by an artists table and watch them draw.

  4. I love the smirk on Thor’s mouth.  A great touch.

  5. Is it just me, or does anyone else wish that they wouldn’t color his stuff?  His inks are amazing and I find myself liking the black and white versions much better than the final colored ones.

  6. Yep, the uncolored and unfinished look way awesome. So simple yet so tasty.
