‘Arrow’ – S01E12 – “Vertigo”

Arrow_Vertigo

Just don’t call him Count Vertigo.

Here is how “Vertigo” is described:

Thea (Willa Holland) is in trouble with the police after she gets caught using a drug called Vertigo. Oliver (Stephen Amell) thinks the only way to keep her out of jail is to find the dealer, a man who goes by the name of The Count (guest-star Seth Gabel). Oliver turns to McKenna Hall (guest star Janina Gavankar), an old flame and current Vice cop, for help. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) steps in to defend Thea, and Felicity (guest-star Emily Bett Rickards) gives Oliver some disturbing news about Moira (Susanna Thompson).

I look forward to your thoughts, opinions, gripes, live-blogging, etc.

Soooo, the Joker is on Arrow. Um….ok.

  2. Even though i like the villain for this episode, he looks more like a manchester black.

  3. Loved the episode, with the exception of Seth Gabel’s performance. It was like a sad Ledger/Hamill Joker impersonation.

  4. Yeah, the whole Joker meets Twilight performance was to much, but the episode as a whole was great.

I must say that I’m surprised how much I have enjoyed this show as a whole.

  5. I’m guessing Seth Gabel doesn’t have a feel for comic book characters on t.v. That’s not to say he’s not good because I thought he was a solid actor on FRINGE.

  6. Yeah, Seth Gabel’s performance was a rare misstep for the show. I didn’t think it was awful, just one or two notches too many towards camp.

    • I agree, he was solid on Fringe but this was new territory for him he needs work on if he’s gonna do more of it. But I did notice Thea’s drug incident and being nicknamed Speedy adds a cpl nods to the comics and hopefully becomes Speedy eventually, I’m all for a fresh female take on the character. Maybe those are just nods but I seen it as a teaser for things to possibly come as well.

  7. We’re saying “The Count” is actually “Joker” after getting a huge dose of Vertigo? Uh, don’t mind breaking with the canon, but this seems a step too far. Could he be another villan? I’m not familiar enough with Green Arrow to speculate on his possible real identity. Insight anyone?

  8. I am still enjoying this show.
