Any Fingers Left? DC Offers Another Promotional Ring For FLASHPOINT

Back when they prepped those promotional rings for Blackest Night, DC evidently bought in bulk. Because they're offering another one. This time, for their big 2011 Flashpoint event. New Flashpoint edition Flash rings will be available when you pick up June's Flashpoint #2. Or through whatever fiscal hoops your retailer wishes you to leap through, depending on corruption levels. Most though, will just give them to you when you buy the book.

Alright, so let's tally up those rings:

Black

Green

Yellow

Indigo

Blue

Orange

Red

Where's my Legion flight ring? There was even a new Legion #1 book to use as an excuse for it!

Anyways. We've also got the solicit information for May's Flashpoint #1. It's double-sized at 40 pages, priced at $3.99. The 794 tie-ins will be $2.99. Here's the skinny from DC:

Everything You Know Will Change in a Flash!

Not a dream, not an imaginary story, not an elseworld. This is a Flash Fact: When Barry Allen wakes at his desk, he discovers the world has changed. Family is alive, loved ones are strangers, and close friends are different, gone or worse. It’s a world on the brink of a cataclysmic war – but where are Earth’s Greatest Heroes to stop it? It’s a place where America’s last hope is Cyborg, who hopes to gather the forces of the Outsider, the Secret 7, S!H!A!Z!A!M!, Citizen Cold and other new and familiar-yet-altered faces.

It’s a world that could be running out of time, if The Flash can’t find the villain who altered the time line!

Welcome to FLASHPOINT!

Comments

  1. If you were born with 12 fingers then you finally have a good reason to have that deformity.

  2. I’m getting finger extentions to wear theses

  3. I was at Outback Steakhouse in NYC in the middle of the day to get a Bloomin’ Onion and my waiter had a red rage ring on. I asked him if he was full of rage and he said he was.

  4. @ResurrectionFlan  Is it even legal to eat at an Outback while in NYC?

  5. @ResurrectionFlan  When you ask for the steak rare, that waiter coughs blood on it.

  6. Hey, I still have 10 toes that need rings.

  7. @PaulMontgomery  ” Or through whatever fiscal hoops your retailer wishes you to leap through”
You got that right!! I’m still pissed 2 of my favorite LCS’s did NOT include them with the issues and sold them separately!! Still holding a grudge!

  8. Only 794 tie-ins? I’m disappointed.

  9. I’m still a little upset there wasn’t a legion flight ring when the first issue came out.

Also did they mention something about Buttons? Those could be cool and not as nerdy as wearing a bulky ring all the time.

  10. @PaulMontgomery  It was for an art project. Plus all we had were giant happy hour drinks and the Bloomin Onion. Don’t worry!

  11. I don’t need it. I already have ALL the lantern rings now. And boy am I satisified.

    ….

Perhaps I don’t deserve the orange ring after all….

  12. I’m more excited about the buttons, when I go back to college they’re going to be on my back pack with pride.

  13. “Everything you know about the Flash will change!” Shit we are 9 issues in and had delays during this run. Rebirth was a 9 part? event that took a year? Seems anything to do with the Flash is sloooooow. I bet when you order the rings they will be on backorder and delayed in receiving them!!

  14. The rings are OK…i mean they are super cheap-o. I’d much prefer buttons. I have a BPRD one on my work bag. No one knows what it is….its how i represent. =)

  15. I would buy a Legion book just for the ring. Easily the sexiest of all the DC rings.

  16. I wonder if it will just be the same flash ring again, like when theyrereleased the green lantern one or if it will be a different looking flash ring, like flashpoint universe flash or something.

  17. I too was surprised that there was Legion ring when the new series started. If any book could have used the sales bump that these ring promotions provide, I feel it’s Legion.

  18. Even without the rings, I’m super excited for this event.  It’s going to be a fun summer.

  19. @ccarney  My theory about the delays: it’s a long-form meta-art project based around the fact that Barry Allen is always late for everything.  This will be confirmed when (totally pretend) the Wally West as Flash mini-series comes out in late 2011 and every issue is on time.  If this is true, it will significantly raise my level of respect for Geoff Johns, though I still won’t buy The Flash.

  20. @jmstump  Buttons would be just as nerdy.

  21. I’d have to say having a small button on your back pack or something is much less nerdy than wearing a Flash/Lantern ring.

  22. Q: Any fingers left? A: Yes, just one. Can you guess which one? 🙂
