Name: Harper Harris

Bio: I'm mostly a DC guy...unlike a lot of comics people, I started with more indie stuff: crime comics like Stray Bullets and horror stuff like Walking Dead.  The Long Halloween got me into Batman, and through a slow Vertigo filled process (Swamp Thing, Animal Man) I slowly built myself up to becoming a DCU man.  I'm a Crisis aficionado, so I love the big events.  I've been a collector of TPB's for many years, but this year has been the start of a love for singles.

Can’t believe this isn’t getting more pulls!  I guess the small(er) name publisher really just lessens how much people hear…

A little disappointing, mostly because it had nothing/little to do with the actual LoD.  Just some minor unknown supervillain getting…

I really loved this, as a fan of most or all of the characters involved.  I was pleasantly surprised that…

August 5, 2013 10:29 pm This is a straight up dumb thing to get upset about.
June 21, 2013 4:29 pm I'm about halfway through the (wretched) 9th season. I really want to read this, but will it spoil the series finale?
June 5, 2013 6:36 pm Uh what is this?
June 4, 2013 9:33 pm I might sell my soul for that...
May 15, 2013 12:34 pm Oh, and I bag and board everything as well, and that's mostly from a collector's standpoint. Floppies are pretty damn fragile in a lot of ways, and just like I keep my DVDs in cases on the shelf, I keep my single issues in bags/boards.
May 15, 2013 12:31 pm I consider myself both a reader and a collector. I'd say 98% of my collection is stuff I've read or plan to read. As a reader, I get a ton of enjoyment from the stories/art obviously, and as a collector, there's a sense of satisfaction and nostalgia I get from being able to thumb through a long, complete run of a series that I enjoyed. As for even older comics, I collect certain things because I see them in a historical perspective, and to own a piece of that is something that makes me very happy :D
January 16, 2013 12:15 pm My problem with a lot of series (take the Fourth World Omnibuses, for example) is that it's a long time in between getting books, so I have to reread the previous volumes to remember what was going on. So I always want to just buy a whole series that I know I'll love so I can read it all at once, but who's got that kind of money to shell out on omnibi?
October 27, 2012 8:27 pm I totally did not understand why Batman suddenly sadly decided that Damian would have to go back to his mother because the League of Assassins/Leviathon would win...
September 27, 2012 10:11 am I agree with many that this is the best thing they've done yet. There was some great pacing and storytelling ideas that only work in animation, maybe the best example being the transition from Bruce's face to his mother's pearls. Almost above all, I thought the music was startlingly good, like non-straight-to-DVD-release good!
