I really enjoyed this issue.  It brought me back to what I enjoyed from the start of this series, way back in the Marvel Knights ‘Madrox’ mini — XFactor as part of the mutant community.  Here we get to see each member of the team being heroic in small ways, together with the ordinary citizens of Mutanttown (sorry, the Middle East side).  I have a feeling this book will be heading in a new direction before long, and it was nice to see the story touch base back with where it started — with Rictor’s angst about being depowered, back in X-Factor #1.  Lovely art by Raimondi, too  (though I was a little thrown that he’s obviously using Gwyneth Paltrow as a model for Val Cooper — while LaRocca is using Nicole Kidman for Pepper Potts in ‘Invincible Iron Man’.  It hurts my brain!)

Story: 5 - Excellent

  1. Good review, I agree, David and Raimondi make a great team.  Time has definitely shown that you would be remiss to pass on anything written by Peter David with these characters.  I just wish we had Rahne and Layla back though.  What did you think of the Quick and the Dead one shot?
