This is a comic that strikes me as being very old school, almost something that Stan Lee might have written during his prime. X-Factor assault castle Doom with a lot of action but not a whole lot of the usual character development and exploration. But who knew that Dr. Doom liked to paint? Truly, he contains multitudes. This issue probably has one of the most elegantly constructed plots of the year, and Peter David ties it all up neat and tidy at the end, almost as though he finished it off with a bow. The art complements the script nicely.
