Funny thing about this series, is that if any of the components weren’t quite right, it just wouldn’t work. The story, the art, color and design…they all create this nice package that makes for good comics. Yeah its a bit all kinds of European espionage thrillers, but we’re being set up for a more insidious ending…i can feel it.

For my money this is one of the best looking books on the shelf. The art and colors are a visual treat, and the covers have such a refined design sensibility, this graphic designer is wondering why more comics don’t value quality design the way that this title does.

The pencils in this book are interesting, and now i just love em. So simple and in some ways pleasantly crude, but they all come together to form this mysterious rendering. its kinds like when you wake up in the mornings and your eyes are hazy, but you can still see…its that kind of feeling which really helps to immerse you in this mysterious story.

This is a fun series, and 3 issues in we’re still setting up the mystery. Two issues left and i hope to get some real answers, and some actual butt kicking. Can’t wait to see how this plays out….and from what i hear this got picked up for a longer run. Good times.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1. These pencils are closer to the Alex Toth clarity in design, it takes tremendous skill to pull it off right, nothing clutters anything else, it just adds another component to how good this comic is presented. It’s been my pick of the week twice, can’t wait to read my issue.

  2. yeah there are some pencil moves in there that are sooo simple yet so sophisticated. its like, seriously you just draw 4 lines and you have a person dancing??? Its quite skillful to be able to abbreviate like that.

  3. Good review.  I agree.
