We’re only two issues in, but I gotta say that this may just be one of the most fun comics I’ve read in a long time.  I picked up this series for two reasons.  The first was Chris Samnee’s art, which I’m a huge fan of.  The second was for Thor stories that didn’t require me to know a ton about the character.  Luckily, both of these reasons are addressed in the last two issues.  Samnee’s art is incredible in this issue as his simple style simply pops with the bright colors.  There’s a couple splash pages in this issue that are mind blowingly good, including Thor standing looking at a sunrise and Thor laying the smack down on Hyde.  Langridge made a smart choice with his character Jane as she takes same role that new readers have:  she is slowly learning about Thor as the reader is.  I also love Thor’s characterization in this series.  He is new to Earth and is learning about humans, which makes for some funny moments in this issue.  I can’t think of many comics that leave me this happy once I finish them.  Count me in for this series!

  1. Couldn’t agree more. If not for Time Lincoln, this would have been my POW for sure.
