Matt Fraction is one of my favorite writers at Marvel and it’s not for what he’s doing with Iron Man, it’s because of his work on Thor. The two stories that take place are very entertaining. I actually like the Enchantress/Donald Blake story line more than Thor’s, though they begin to cross over in this issue. I laughed at the opening page as the disembodied head of Donald Blake is thankfull for the horror he had to watch is over. I did like the redesign of Thor that looked like a character out of the Adult Swim cartoon Metalocalypse. I especially liked his anvil on a stick. Though the story on Thor’s end didn’t move ahead much, besides Thor alone waking up, next issue will probably have this nightmare in Asgardia solved and also some thunder and hammer swinging.

  1. It’s interesting. i have mixed feelings about his work on Thor. I think at least some of the negative feedback he gets is becasue he’s trying to move Thor back into the magical rather than magic as another form of science (e.g. Tony sacrificing his sobriety to Odin). But I think there have been some problems. I quite enjoyed the Galactus seed arc and i liked the idea of the Tanarus arc but nothing happened to Thor in the afterlife. He was in some boat and then hit Demigorge’s heart. I dunno. I hear he’s wrapping up his run so I’ll see it out but it hasn’t live up to the Ages of Thunder mini
