Dan Slott keeps the train going strong. Spider-Man spends a majority of this issue pummeling Morbius and thanks to Madame Web the story gets more exciting. Peter has been angry this entire arc and also frustrated that he couldn’t save Silver Sable. At the end of this arc I think he’s going to be more frustrated with himself. I don’t know if others are noticing this, but Spider-Man is becoming a JERK. He’s beginning to get more angry at his sympathetic enemies. He tells Morbius to his face that he’s a loser. Flash Thompson would look at Spider-Man now and go give Peter a long apologetic hug. Yes they’re the same person, but he doesn’t know that. There was a somewhat comedic relief in this story when Horizon’s top scientists would try and help Connors perfect his formula. One of the best is when Connors finds the song “Call Me Maybe” thumb tappingly catchy. I haven’t noticed this before, but Camuncoli’s art looks better when everything takes place during the day. I’m not the biggest fan of his, but I do believe that he is the best artist for this kind of story.
