This arc was awesome! It brought the title back to where it was with Loeb in the beginning. I really loved all of the little nods in each issue. In this issue for example, I loved the part when they went to dinosaur island and Z asked Batman if he'd just like to take the T-Rex home with him cuz it was so cute. And Bruce just says, "I've already got one." ZING! One for Batman! Michael Green (of Heroes fame)... wait a minute, Jeph Loeb works on Heroes too! Can we get the writers from Heroes to write this book for awhile? From the dynamic between Bats and Supes to the new form of Kryptonite, this story was superb. Magic Silver K!? My only complaint about this issue is that its the end. What about the mission to get rid of the the world's Kryptonite? They don't even really mention it at the end. But other than that, this was alot of fun.
I've always thought Bruce had a thing for Zatanna, now we know he just might. And thus, those feelings make it that much harder for him to deal with her after the events of Identity Crisis. Sometimes taking Batman out of Gotham can be tough, or down right silly, but this was good. It really showed his logic based reasoning in a world that isn't always logical.
And if any of that doesn't interest you, the book had Superman basically stoned from the magic K causing him to see his JLA buddies as small animated characters leaving him craving some serious munchies and vegging out on video games. That's worth the cover price right there!
UPDATE: I just checked dccomics.com and it looks like after March's Joe Kelly Annual, the creative team of Green & Davis will be back to continue to the K story! This makes me smile!!!
