First thing I noticed in Stumptown Vol. 2 #1 was that the art was still fantastic but the tone of the colors had changed. In this volume they’re more rich and vibrant. I believe that the story and characters as thrive in this seemingly lighter pallet. This time we have a happier Dex. She is still a little clumsy and dresses to be comfortable – not to impress – but she’s very upbeat. She has a great office, a cool client and is outsmarting the feds and the local PD. Things are looking great for Dex… up until the last page.

Chaos is coming and the mystery is now in full motion. Book three is bound to be a nail bitter as this story has started out lighter than last time but has quickly put Dex in over her head. My guess at this point is that the pay off in Vol. 2 will be just as great as in Vol. 1.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. Did you think it picked up? I thought Issue One didn’t really grab me when I tried it.
