While this is not considered one of the mainstay books of DC, it is easily one of my favorites over the years. Under Tomasi this book has gotten very good once again. I also read Tomasi’s Nightwing for a while, it was very good as well. Why this guy isn’t running the DC universe I do not know. He really gets the characters, treats them with affection and gives them astounding depth. Even for second tier, and third tier, characters that have never had any real meaning. I mean, I actually dig Geoforce. And Owlman. Seriously.

In addition to excellent writing the art is pretty good too. Clean, tells the story well and invigorates the action. Very classic style of comic book art with every character portrayed bigger than life. Gives a good sense of character in the scenes that are not action oriented as well.
