J.T. Krul is one of my favorite new writers in DC right now and should be making waves in the coming year. So I wanted to make sure I picked up his first creator owned comic Mindfield.

The story is about a futuristic government that fights terrorism with specially trained mind readers.

It’s hard for me to say how I feel about this issue because the actual comic is only 12 pages. After page 12, you get an introduction by Krul and some character bios. I wish they would have just included this in an over sized #1 that would cost 3.99, instead of charged 2.50 for a 12 page comic and then charge you again for a #1.

The art is pretty average but up to a professional comic level. I did like how the “mind reading” was represented. I would have liked the coloring to be better.

I am going to pick up issue #1 because I like the concept and I think J.T. Krul is a cool guy.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 2 - Average
