To sum it up in one sentence: I liked the what I saw, my problem is that there was not much to see.

Each page in this issue had just one full blown singel panel… you don’t have to lissen to Josh’s Making Comics Podcast to know that it’s a sucky way to tell a story in a comic.

I get it… to publish a comic on a on-time monthly schedule you have to cut some corners. But this is more than just SOME corners !!

I would rater see the comic go back to it’s more simple early art form w/ Cory Walker if it would have in return a more dynamic way of story telling… or publish it in a novel (without the graphic) would be OK for me too.

Anyways: I liked the story but not the way it’s told. To sum it up in another sentence: Not satisfying at all !!

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 1 - Poor

  1. This was a very definite stylistic choice on the part of both creators. I have no idea how you could see this as ‘cutting corners’.

Fair enough if you didn’t like the choice – that is of course your right – but please don’t imply it’s laziness on Ottley’s part.
