Here’s what I want to know:  How is this J.T. Krul the same one that wrote Rise of Arsenal?  Ok, that was a bit harsh and snarky, and I immediately take it back…Well, some of it anyways.  The first issue of the series had me intrigued enough to come back, and as I was reading this second issue, I found myself seriously enjoying the book.  While this isn’t going to win any awards, this issue had a very classic feel to it.  The story points that happen are easily contained to the issue, and the reader is given enough to follow along with what’s happening, even if they hadn’t read anything previously.  The story itself is not deep, but features two old friends tackling new obstacles together.  The art is dynamic and fast paced, even if it lacks any sort of specialness or particular detail to set it apart.   This was just a damn solid issue of Green Arrow, and J.T. Krul is definitely positioning this to be a fun Green Arrow title.  Before I close, I’d be remiss if I didn’t address the cliffhanger at the end of the book.  All I can say is that it was certainly surprising and I gasped, but I don’t think we’ll see any sort of long term repercussions from it.  I liken it back to events that happened previously to Ollie and his family.  Of course, it certainly will make the next issue even more interesting.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 3 - Good
