“Cobra Command” is a great successor to the search for a new Cobra Commander — Chuck Dixon keeps this one smacking of reality and relevance as he co-opts real features of the South Asian drug trade and geopolitical maneuvering to tell a hell of a story. Alex Cal is a penciler in the Greg Land/Jae Lee mold, so he might not be everyone’s taste, but I enjoy his layouts and face-acting. IDW is, stunningly, maintaining a tremendous quality level across the board with the Joe Family of titles.
