I haven’t been onboard with Earth 2 since the beginning, but it has been enjoyable. This issue was somewhat enjoyable. They don’t really defeat Grundy as much as they outsmart him. Green Lantern leaves him to think about his actions on the moon. So does that mean no more trips to the moon for NASA, or anybody else for that matter? My favorite part of this issue is the last few pages in which GL tells Flash & Hawkgirl that he doesn’t need them anymore because he’s powerful enough to handle anything on his own now. I think that was great character response because he’s a Green Lantern and they are cocky SOBs and there’s no Superman to show him up. It’s only a matter of time before someone smacks him down a couple pegs and he comes crawling back (you know how rock stars are). I do not envy Nicolas Scott. She draws enough vines to make Swamp Thing say, “That’s a lot of vines.” Everything looks fantastic. Flash’s last words is what we are all thinking, “What do we do now?”

  1. I am not digging this series as much as I was when it first began. I’m getting too much of a “been there, done that” vibe with the story, and it took 6 issues to tell a story that could have been told in half that time. The ending was very anticlimactic too.

I get that Robinson is subverting the team-book formula by having GL be like, “well, laters!” after the fight with Grundy, but it left me feeling deflated as opposed to excited for future stories. Also, GL needs a cape and a damn lantern!
