After listening to Rob Liefeld on a Word Balloon podcast and loving his energy and enthusiasm - and loving his idea to have Slade Wilson lock horns with Lobo - I decided to pick up the first issue of Liefeld's new arc, DEATHSTROKE #9, which I thought was okay. It was a decent enough set-up. True, more Wildstorm crap was thrown at me (hey DC, I never cared for Wildstorm even before it was being forced down my throat in so much of the New 52!) but at least the promise of finally seeing Deathstroke vs. Lobo would be paid off in the next issue. Or so I thought. DEATHSTROKE #10 not only does NOT deliver on this promise -- but in its place, we get some of the cheesiest 80s dialogue I have read since 1991, when mediocre sci fi writers had *first* neglected to get with the post-80s era! Thank goodness I got these two DEATHSTROKE comics digitally -- and at a discount -- though I am still mourning the $3.98 I spent without getting the stupid Slade vs. Lobo fight which I came for *two comic books ago!* At least there is a silver lining to this: I now know better than to dump good money on Mr. Liefeld's SAVAGE HAWKMAN, which I was also curious about. Nope.
