OK this is my first review, so I'll try to keep it short.
This issue of Criminal was awesome (like every previous issue was), the use of fully blacked out panels to represent lost moments in time, the dude's black-outs, was something I've never before seen in a comic book. Having experienced black-outs (drink in moderation, people) I found this familiar & disturbing at the same time.
Anyone who reads this should definitely go back & re-read issue #1, because when I did that, you get alot more out of it -- and it's written in a way that these two stories could have been read in any order. Certain characters & scenes in the first issue make more sense after you have read issue two.
I don't have anything negative at all to say about this issue, or this title from the beginning. The dialogue is flawless, the story is tight & believable, and the art fits the tone of the book perfectly.
I wish I could give it a better grade than five outta five!
Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 5 - Excellent

Agreed! My only problem with this issue is that I moved recently and all my older comics are boxed up — so until I can sort through things and find the previous issue, I only have a general idea of how things fit together. Everything in this series, from the first issue of the first volume, has been so intricately connected that — while the stories read well on their own — I know they’d read even better together. My project once I get unpacked will have to be a full Criminal-readthrough, and that should be an awesome day.
Only a day? I’m a slow reader with a short attention span, so I might get through em’ all in a week. =D
It’s definitely worth digging out issue one for the re-read, it’s almost like you haven’t read it before, things are so much more clear, it feels like it’s the second issue & the second issue was the first issue (if that makes any sense!).
Anyway, thanks alot for the comment on my first review!
