A part of me tells myself I shouldn’t be reviewing new comics because I’m always constantly let down. Even more so now that I’ve lost my job and have to be quite selective with what I buy. That being said, I will always buy a Morrison book new. He’s my favorite writer and (previously) he rarely let me down. That is….until a few years ago when his run on Batman & Robin ended. Then I started wondering why I still buy his books. Vol. 1 of Inc. had massive highs and the rest was blah. Action Comics is a badly-written, unfunny joke (which I still buy, sadly). And vol. 2 of Inc. started great, and that’s all….

Issue #4 takes 5 minutes to read (10 minutes if you stop to look at the art). And then it has an ending so out-of-character for Batman…it just really makes me wonder, what the heck happened? All I’m thinking is “Okay, he has 8 issues left to make this the epic ending Batman deserves…” I know he can do it. I just don’t know if he will.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1. Dude, chin up. Don’t feel bad about buying Action comics. That last issue with the phnatom zone and Krypto was incredible. Seriously comparable to an All Star Superman issue. I think Batman Inc is fun, but Action has had more classic issues.

  2. How did red hood join batman?
