Grant Morrison's run on Action Comics has been a strange one.It's only fitting that these last few issues be....confusing.With time being unwound by a 5th Dimensional villain whose name i can't even spell, we see events during Superman's past that and the Legion of Superheroes coming back in time from a dystopian 30th century we're unaccustomed to.All the while Superman fights an alternate universe version of himself who's main objective is to "defeat the competition".Morrison presents this alternate Superman as an evil brand, showing Morrison's distrust of commercialism and everything related to currency in general (it could be worse, i'm looking at you Card).We also see glimpses of the Kents and how they died but more importantly the impact they had on Superman.Even better was when the "current" Superman arrived back in the past to meet with Pa Kent a few hours before he'd meet his untimely death on the road.The two talked and Superman hinted that Pa doesn't survive, eliciting a shrug and a proud speech to his adopted alien son.Whatever you may say about the New 52 Superman and how he changed, the Kents didn't and i truly believe that THEY are the reason Superman does what he does.
