    What can I say? I love Matt Wagner’s Zorro, it is always sweeping, romantic, chivalrous, noble. I love this vision of early California too (I’m from Massachusetts)

    Ever since Wagner started his Zorro run a couple years ago, I’ve thought that it was one of the best titles on the market. So nice to have it back again. I especailly like how he has been handling the father’s discovery that his son is Zorro. It’s not what I expected, yet, still feels completely right . . .

    Yea, I agree. This plot idea is very original. I’ve always liked the father as a character and always felt that his son was somewhat cruel — it’s not just that he doesn’t reveal his secret identity, it’s that his faked every day persona must have always made Dad feel like he was the worst father. It’s too bad books like this don’t get more attention…beats me why, I mean, name writer, good art…but somehow yet another issue of Iron Man or Green Arrow will outsell this tenfold.

    i always felt sorry for the father as well as Deigo; Wagner has found a very potent way of addressing the old motiff of the fallout from a hero’s secret identity. I’m very curious to see where this plot line, along with the rest of the book, goes next.

    I am also surprised that this title does not receive more attention; it’s not like Zorro or Wagner have no name recoginition. Only 17 pulls? Really? Even the publisher doesn’t seem to push it as much as a new Vampirella series, or something else featuring a similarly scantily clad — oh wait, did I just answer my own question? 🙂

    By the way, what did you think of Wagner’s Green Hornet? Honestly, I was a little disappointed . . .
