This is one of those books where I can’t figure out where the hell to start. I mean to get the trades, but I have other priorities, and trades never keep up with issues of course. Now seems like as good a time as any, I suppose, since it’s only two books removed from the trades.
I am now picking this up in monthlies because I get a sweet discount at my LCS and the trades turn out to be smidge more expensive in the long run. This book reads great in trade though.
About a month ago I picked up both trades, thinking i was only going to follow it in trades. But after finishing both books i couldn’t resist putting it on my pull list. I can’t wait to see what type of character Ennis devleops Butcher into, the video podcast from a while back where ifanboy interviewed Garth @ Jim Hanley’s U so really interesting, i recommend anyone who hasnt seen it and reads this book to check it out.
I almost dropped this, because I had no idea what was going on when they went to Russia and I didn’t care much about Techknight. That took a lot of wind out of my sails for this book, but The Boys is finally back to the stroy that got me reading in the first place.
I have a feeling this will be like preacher, a lot of issues that veer off topic and make me question why i’m reading the book, but it will eventually pull me back with something sweet.
Shaun of the Dead meets Superheroes with a dash of extreme and visceral violence. I was late to the game on this, but I love it.
I think this book is getting better each issue. I did not like the Russia story during my first read, but I read it again this week and it is alot better the second time through.
thisisegan, the techknigth story was great. How can you not like a story that begins with Techknigth (Batman/Ironman) in full costume telling his shrink "Doc, I cannot stop F#cking thing."
I think through out this month I’ll reread 1-16, maybe I’ll like the stuff better on the second read. As for Techknight, I don’t think that I so much didn’t think it was funny, it just wasnt very exciting, but like I said i need to reread
is every issue of this series based around some sex gag?
Dude, the sex gag in this one made me drop the book & laugh out loud. Worth the price of admission alone for that one page!

It also made the cover way more funny/gross to me! So, closing the book when finishing & looking at the cover made me giggle again … I’m so mature.
