BATTLESTAR GALACTICA #1

MEMORIAL, Part 1!

2013 marks the 35th anniversary of the original Battlestar Galactica TV series and to celebrate Dynamite is launching a brand new series, written by cosmic supremos, Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning (Legion, Nova, Guardians of the Galaxy)!

Set in classic BSG continuity, this series celebrates 35 years of epic space opera when, following a surprise Cylon attack, Adama and the crew of the Galactica are forced to deploy Dr Zee’s experimental temporal weapons with unexpected results that leave Apollo and Starbuck lost in time and space in an alternate reality with no Galactica and no way of returning home!

  1. I am so ready for this series. I love the original BSG, DnA, and that Alex Ross cover is amazing.

  2. This is going to be sooooooo good!!! Cannot wait!!

  3. Should I hop in with no real knowledge of the show?

    • That’s what I’m considering. DnA scripting space opera again is quite tempting . . .

    • I’m not sure, the synopsis makes it seem like it will be kind of a new story, it’s also going to be jumping in time and in an alternate universe, so there probably won’t be a ton of continuity.

  4. I picked this up and had no knowledge of the show and I thought it was good. Definitely got me interested to check out #2. But I am interested to see what some one who is really into Battlestar Galactica thinks thou. If you are on the fence but like DnA I would give this a shot.

    • I’ve seen every episode of the original show and you don’t really need any back ground for this issue, it’s pretty straight forward exposition.

  5. I like BG and have heard the raves about DnA on other cosmic books, so I’m giving this a shot.

  6. I flipped through the first few pages of this in the store, and, honestly, it didn’t grab me (I ended up getting Dream Merchants instead). If I have a slow week in the near future, I’d like to go back and give it another try, though . . .

  7. When I saw that this was going to be based on the original Galactica I signed on board immediately! The first issue did not disappoint. Honestly more excited about this than the Star Wars comic.
