Emerald City Comicon 2012 in Photographs!

Somehow, I am sitting in front of the computer typing this right now. Somehow, my eyes are still open. Somehow, I survived Emerald City ComiCon 2012.

This year was my third ECCC, and it was… mind blowing. The guest list was fantastic, the artist’s alley was all encompassing, there were WAY TOO MANY THINGS to blow money on, tons of great panels, etc etc. It brought in more than 13,000 more people than last year, and it was shown with the crowded exhibition hall, constant lines in the artist alley, and the awesome cosplays. In short, ECCC this year – well, it kicked ass. It was a great show, put on by great people, with great attendees, great guests, etc. It has to be my favorite con – and I’m not just saying that because I am a Seattle-ite.

So while I am still totally exhausted (I haven’t quite caught my breath since last weekend), I edited my photos as fast as humanly possible so I could share them with you poor souls who weren’t in attendance of this great convention (and allow those of you who were to relive the epic memories). Below you’ll find some cosplay, some artists, some convention floor snaps, and LOTS of photos from the Live Art event I hosted on Saturday night (sponsored by iFanboy and Graphicly, hoorah!)

Without further ado, I bring to you: Emerald City ComiCon 2012. In photographs.

  1. Man, that one guy is wearing a great Ron RIchards costume.

  2. Nice! Great pictures Molly!

  3. Fantastic pics. Looks like a blast. Thanks!

  4. So cool, why don’t we get cool Cons like that in Montreal!? 🙁

  5. Molly’s looking good.

  6. Sometimes you see boobs on iFanboy and some days you don’t. Mostly you don’t.

    All great pics as usual!

  7. I look a little drunk, which of course is an understatement.

  8. ok, so i tend to roll my eyes at the idea of cosplay. just not my thing. but i am instantly and infinitely welcoming of everybody and anybody dressed as the monarch and dr. mrs. the monarch. good job whoever you are, where ever you are.

  9. **COMMENT MODERATED** Zatanna has a really nice complexion.

  10. It’s so much fun to see costumes that I’ve never seen before (Ghost Rider, Stephanie Brown Batgirl, Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and the Blackhawk). The Batwoman costume is really spot on too!

  11. Man, I haven’t been to a comic con yet.

  12. Nice photos! Which other cons you going to this year? Hope to see you at DragonCon this year!

  13. Awesome!!! I’m in the Detroit area and told a few people we should go check the Emerald out and no one was that enthused, I love that side of the country, been all over Cali and prefer the northern coast and have yet to stay in Seattle, so next year this is the con for me that I’m putting some bread aside for and going it alone if I have to. Solo adventures are sometimes the most engaging. Great pics Molly, the cosplay stuff inspires me and is just pure fun, I’ve been Spaceghost for Halloween but never a costume at a con. They had a great line up and hope to see everybody next year.

  14. Great pics as always, and thanks for sharing Molly.

I wish I could run away from my mundane life and dress up as someone else…

  15. Most of those pictures make me not want to go to ComicCon.

  16. Seattle has some nice looking women. The percentage of really cute females in this small cluster sampling seems quite high. Bravo Seattle.
