January 3, 2013 11:02 pm Jesus Christ! This is impossible to choose! I think for me...Saga was just SO FUCKING GOOD...its hard not to pick Fiona Staples. She did all the art duties along with incredible color (and color is SO important)...having to create new characters/visuals from scratch and not just getting to do her version or twist on stuff, plus she got 8 issues out and they launched in late March I believe. The book reads too well and did too well for her not to get my (who gives a shit) vote. ALSO...ultimate anti-fake nerd girl cred. if she tops a list dominated by dudes.
December 4, 2012 10:47 pm Aaron Kuder is a BAD ASS.
July 24, 2012 6:16 pm Sam's work is so fun and expressive! Perfect for comic book storytelling. I've gotten to meet him a number of times down here in Texas...great guy and such an amazing artist. Awesome feature!
March 8, 2012 3:49 am Thanks for the kind words and for taking the time to write up this review Paul. Really glad you like it,...I feel like Jonathan and I have started to gel more on this..its a blast to draw.
March 8, 2012 3:43 am Thanks man! I recently read the manga Pluto by Urasawa, and was just blown away at how he can capture emotion with just a glance, sometimes quite panels of a character looking off after a bit of dialouge...could just hold you and sell the moments/story beats. It's probably the most powerful thing I've ever read in comics because of the life behind the character's eyes. Its something I've been working on since with my faces. That and just trying to capture more life and personality to the forms (sadly at the sake of anatomical correctness...Ha!). Really glad everyone seems to be receiving issue #1 well, #2 has a lot of Richard Feynman and Robot Arm'ed Werner Von Braun. Feynman's intro is GOLD. Anyways...thanks for the kind words lifesend!
July 15, 2011 3:28 am @TheNextChampion  Thanks for the cool review dude. You totally nailed my influences....so much so that i had to write(can't find a pm on this site?). Very much early Quitely and Seth Fisher inspired...with a little Darrow sprinkled in too...and some rubbery flawed wonky shit too...but skip that! Ha!  Email me your address if you got time npitarra@hotmail.com ...and thanks again!

May 25, 2011 10:03 pm Fisher is one of my biggest artistic influences. Such a great talent, just whimsical magical stuff. You can see his love of art and life in everything he drew...on every page he drew. I'm lucky enough to own a page from his batman run.

Halik, I don't hink anyone knows if Seth committed suicide or not. His family doubts it and suspects he might have been examining his fear of heights (which his family said he was known to do...confront his fears about things) or they suspect he just fell on accident...over a shorter Japanese railing?

I wish DC would collect willword, flash time flies, and the Batman run in an absolute edition. He also had nice work in Happydale and Vertigo Pop Tokyo that would fill an absolute edtion nicely. His detailed art deserves to be appreciated in a larger format.

RIP Seth Fisher.
