I had a few ordered, my orders got cancelled. Sure I was excited and willing to exploit the glitch, but at the same time I thought it would be doubtful I'd get anything. The $25 credit wasn't really needed, IMO, but it's a really nice gesture that I was happy to get.
Interestingly the same thing happened on Barnes & Noble's website (on a much smaller scale). Right now I have the Criminal collection, DD Bendis, Alan Moore Captain Britain, and Tomb of Dracula omnibi awaiting shipment for $11 a piece. No cancellation emails yet! Fingers crossed
March 5, 2010 11:03 am There's something about the final scene in that issue of All-Star Supes where Superman is mourning at his father's grave that really got to me. Mostly because it stood out to me as a moment where the most powerful superhero was powerless in being able to do anything to save his father.
February 15, 2010 1:40 pm @jmstump - I'm with you on the OGN thought. I think the OGN route could be a really good idea, especially considering the timeliness issue some of these creators have had in the past.
@daccampo I've used ComicZeal for a while. I think the UI is a bit clumsy and the synching of files could use some improvement, but since there aren't many programs that do what it does, it's probably the prime option. ...played a bit more with the Panelfly reader. Man, I REALLY like the interface. So far though, I think I like the Comixology Store UI a bit more. I feel like it's easier to find comics on there.
I've been using the Comixology app for a few months now and as a mobile comic reader, I think it really works great and has a better selection currently than Panelfly (both in Marvel and others like Image/Boom). But I've definitely stopped buying stuff lately just because I feel tied to reading it only the iPhone and would prefer files that I can read on mobile devices and on my computer.
I do have to say that trying the Panelfly app out, the layout and general user interface is tons sexier than Comixology.
Glad to see Marvel enter the arena. Even though I think $1.99 is still too high for older material.
But seeing those huge runs now available made me think of something for the first time - Are these apps somewhat doomed for long-term digital comic purchases? I have the Comixology one and from what I can tell, the comics are just tied to the app. At some point, I'll be forced to delete stuff when I run out of space on my iPhone, right? If that's correct, then the long-term procedure should be download to my hard drive (which has ever increasing space) and upload select comics I want to read to my mobile device so I'm not taking up space on the mobile device. (Sounds like this is the path Longbox is taking). I just started thinking of that in the scenario that someone decided to buy all of those Marvel runs.

Under Bendis, and with the roster so far, its like witty banter x 1 kazillion. I'm definitely looking forward to it
I love Storm's haircut. But I don't think T'Challa would approve of her going out in that top. Great looking Beast though.

Thanks Mike!

My eyes just glazed over upon trying to read all of this text.
Maybe that's why I like comics more than prose.
