You know, I appreciate that DC is trying to follow-up on Final Crisis in some high profile fashion after launching…

February 7, 2012 10:06 am Really? This is my favorite Aaron ongoing right now! Different strokes, I guess.
January 17, 2012 11:36 am More people should be pulling this. It's excellent.
January 12, 2012 12:34 pm But... Batman Noel is not related to this whatsoever?
January 9, 2012 3:54 pm I'm really, really going to miss Ellis on this.
January 9, 2012 3:52 pm I've really been enjoying this.
January 3, 2012 11:00 pm Yeah, me too, HailScott. Thanks, guys!
January 3, 2012 10:59 pm I think "standard" is actually a pretty excellent term to describe what's going on here.
January 3, 2012 10:57 pm Generation Lost was solid, but it's another example of a book with this team that really suffered from decompression. Frankly, if you're not too familiar with the JLI, there's no better place to go than the Giffen/DeMatteis stuff.
January 3, 2012 5:15 pm I'm aware! But the point stands that, aside from a brief appearance in the first Justice League Dark, it's a bit unclear how the "main" Justice League is fitting into things in the modern-day DCnU. Like I said, not a big deal.
January 3, 2012 4:45 pm I think there are a couple of issues with this book. I imagine I’d like it a lot more if 1) I wasn’t already familiar with the characters, 2) there weren’t already a number of superior JLI stories out there, and 3) I was newer to comic books. It’s not bad, but it IS—in my opinion!—really, really boring. It’s bloated, the pacing is slow, there isn’t a ton of chemistry between the characters (chemistry that has always driven this team in the past, even as recently as Generation Lost), the villain is fairly by-the-numbers, etc. I don’t think I’d have the same complaints as a new reader, so maybe this isn’t “for me,” but I do think this could be a bit more “fun” than it is. It’s just a bit… vanilla? Also, as an incidental point, I do wish I had a better idea as to how this fits into the status quo of the DCnU (does Batman leave the Johns Justice League at some point in the “five year” bridge?), but that’s not a huge problem.
