July 31, 2009 3:53 pm @TheNextChampion.--Wotta cowinkydink! Your Avatar is prolly my all-tiime favorite kid's book cover (and book). I read that thing to pieces! (And was suprised at the ending every time!)
July 30, 2009 12:11 pm No love for this weeks Superman cover? It's a composition we've seen before, but I don't think I've ever seen it pulled off quite as well.
My favorite moment was when Ben Urich tries to explain to, uh, 'deep throat' #1 that (paraphrasing here) 'this sounds like a national story. I generally handle New York stories."
Great pick, Ron. It was mine, too, with GL coming in a close second. I am a story guy--I can't remember the last time I bought a book solely for the art (ok, I do--Absolute Hush). And I thought the stories all worked remarkably well (with the exception of Wonder Woman and Titans)--Azzarello (who I've never been a fan of) and Risso's Batman was a masterpiece.
@WonderManFan--These things are cyclical. As a DC fan, I can tell you there have been several weeks where nary a DC book has been mentioned. DC is just kicking all kinds of ass right now.
The art in this book is simply stunning. I am so loving the bat-universe right now. And next week, more Bat-goodness with Batman and Robin #2. What a streak for the POW, if only Ron had bought Streets of Gotham . . . !
Waiting for this title to get better. Probably the one title I'm guilty of still getting out of habit.
@Parker--Even worse news than Len Wein writing a 2-parter is that it features the frickin' Royal Flush Gang! This title is definitely treading water. I say give this to Michael (Superman/Batman) Greene and see what he can do with it.

Wotta reporter, that Urich!

This should have the SUPERMAN BEYOND issues in it. My guess is the above copy is from the original solicit, not the updated one.
