August 20, 2013 12:34 am I think piracy is still around but shrinking, I have in the last 6 months or so seen a lot of articles on tech sites about pirate sites shutting down and I don't see anyone talking about it much anymore. I think the Marvel app for their Marvel Unlimited service is really the Spotify of comics it works just like the Spotify app the only difference is I think while your paying for Spotify you can download unlimited albums to a mobile device and Marvel only lets you download 6 comics at a time. With Spotify and Marvel Unlimited you loose access to the art if you stop your subscription while Comixology and iTunes you don't own the art on either one but you make individual purchases for unlimited access. Anyway with the strength of Marvel Now books why pirate when you pay basically 5 dollars a month and have access to so much good reading material.
August 19, 2013 11:26 pm I loved Tony Harris on that book and while the other main artist, who I can remember their name, was good Harris was my favorite. I really wished he would have come back after the space arc and I think he would have done a great job on that big story with the Shade and the dwarf.
August 19, 2013 11:19 pm Justice League Dark Animal Man Superman Unchained Avengers S. Spiderman Daredevil JLD Hulk I just loved Saturday morning cartoons and it saddens me a little my son doesn't get to have that experience it was a fun way to start the weekend.
August 19, 2013 4:09 pm I might be wrong but it sounds like you haven't read past the first trade, if that it's the case I think you should give it another chance and pick up the second half of this arc. Maybe when the Thor movie comes out they'll put the issues out for a Marvel Monday at .99ยข on comixology and you could try them then. While I loved the first part I felt it really picked up and got amazing in the second half. I just finished reading this issue and it is honestly one of the greatest endings to a comic story I've read in a long time.
August 18, 2013 11:21 pm Sounds like I'm pretty close to Conor's age and I don't remember ever seeing Bravestarr either.
August 15, 2013 1:33 pm Sounds like It could be like The Real World. I liked those older seasons of Real World like the season with Judd Winick, cause the cast was interesting not just a bunch of hot kids drinking, they had Pedro, Judd's now wife Pam, and Puck.
August 15, 2013 1:02 pm This is a big bummer for me, I've loved FF and Fantastic Four. Also listening to Fraction's recent Word Balloon interview he had long term plans for the books that I was excited about. This seems more like a thing I would expect to see happening at D.C.
August 13, 2013 7:38 pm Great idea for an article, I am not much of a gamer but I did play the Arkham games and really liked them. I also really liked Lego Batman 2 but that is because I was able to play it with my son, who had a blast playing it, and it introduced and got him interested in so many DC characters. That being said, I don't think I would recommend it for someone without young kids.
August 4, 2013 6:27 pm I watched this movie knowing a lot about comics but nothing about this event at all When the comics came out I was behind on monthly books and decided to just jump on with new 52. That said I didn't have any trouble following the story, I just didn't get the end part where Flash runs back in time and then there are two Flashes and they disagree and I didn't get it. But I get today Flash wins and everything was cool again.
August 4, 2013 5:38 pm Great discussion, one thing I was curious about was you say the mission to mars room is a blue Valentine reference but I was wondering if it could also be a nod to Brian DePalma as well. The whole train sequence has to be a homage to an almost identical scene in the first Mission Impossible which was directed by DePalma and right after they get off the train is when they get the mission to mars room which is the name of another DePalma film.
