April 26, 2013 4:03 pm I realise this may be the nerdiest thing ever put down into writing but did anyone try to follow the chess game in Ra's (Ra's's?) cell? The fact that Morrison included a diagram along with the "overlooking one detail" dialog and apparent coup de-grace move by Ra's makes me think that it's an actually playable sequence. All the pieces are correctly placed between scenes and seems to begin with white rook taking the black pawn on b2, the dark knight takes the queen off the board at g5 (very apropos) and then...?
April 26, 2013 3:47 pm "Brothers. I have this thing, and now you will have it as well." This may have been panel of the month, maybe even the year for me. FF puts a massive smile on my face each week. Love my tong.
November 14, 2012 7:53 pm Anyone at the Fiona Staples, Ian Boothby and Pia Guerra signing at Travelling Man Manchester this Wednesday? Everybody was really friendly and Pia Guerra was able to read my mind and give me a lttle Ampersand sketch alongside her signature without my asking, which was totally amazing. A friend of mine got a very cool Prince Robot IV sketch with his his face-screen showing Batman's cowl which was also amazing. Very appreciative of everyone involved and being able to express my admiration/respect for three excellent creators.
November 5, 2012 6:49 pm This book confuses me. A friend of mine asked me why I was still buying this, I couldn't think of a single reason why but I'm still going to buy it this week.
November 4, 2012 1:36 pm Ditto to this but surely Mogwai are a little too... heavy... for listening to while reading? I'd be far too tempted to put my book aside and strap my air guitar on with Glasgow Mega Snake playing in my ears.
July 9, 2012 3:54 pm @RecksDeud Thor. Too easy, gimme a hard one.
July 9, 2012 12:36 pm Man wonders where his drinking buddies have gone. Doesn't find out. Has a lot of kids.
July 9, 2012 12:22 pm #1. ? #2. Definately the Walking Dead This seems like a fun game. Anyone else want to describe long-running books in as abtruse a way as possible?
June 19, 2012 5:10 pm This is a game-time decision for me. On the plus side: 1. Brian Azarello. On the minus side: 1. The Comedian seems like the character from Watchmen that's easiest to get tonally wrong if you're not Alan Moore. He has a very idiosyncratic world-view (Comedian, not Alan Moore. Well OK, Moore as well) and I already think that Darwyn Cooke got him badly wrong as a sixteen year-old in Minutemen (Sorry Darwyn). 2. I am skint.
