As a kid watching TV in the months leading up to the premier of "Batman," I watched the promos (which were very high-energy) and thrilled in the expectation that everyone else would see just how cool Batman was. Then the comedy aired, and I was crushed. I watched, but hardly ever with joy in my heart. Even at 15 I realized the kind of exposure the show gave comics wasn't entirely in the mediums' best interests.
