July 28, 2011 5:14 pm Broadly speaking I actually think the ownership of the characters should stick with the publisher when the creator draws a wage. They are the ones that take the risk fronting the cash for publication, advertising etc. and any losses are incurred by them not the creator. Any profits can then be invested into new talent rather than lining the pockets of the grandkids who had nothing to do with it themselves, effectively taking money out of the industry.

But that is probably putting the publishers in a perfect socialist world. I do like the bubble I live in...
July 27, 2011 4:52 pm I'm reading this in Clint, which seems to be around 19 pages into this issue. Is it Clint having the exclusive or Romita's workload holding up the release on this?
June 13, 2011 1:41 pm So this was how they planned to get the funds to pay Diggle and Jock for Snapshot in the Megazine (which will hopefully follow suit)!

For those who have never seen a copy in the flesh, it's magazine rather than comic book dimensions and the covers are usually stunning (Sean Phillips current effort on the shelves a case in point).

The only sticking point might be the make up of the stories themselves, as it's made up of 5 stories each only 4-6 pages long which usually take around 10 progs to reach completion (except for the Dredd stories themselves which are generally a lot shorter), so might take a bit of getting used to.

Given that Judge Dredd is supposed to be American it's surprising it's taken this long to get proper distribution your side of the Atlantic...
