YOUNG X-MEN #9

I’m in the minority of my friends who actually enjoyed most of New X-Men Academy X.  I like that they created a bunch of characters, and had no qualms about killing them off every few issues.  While I was sad to see the title end after Messiah Complex, I’ve been, not excited, but content with The Yong X-Men.  I liked the whole faux-Cyclops storyline, and, overall, I like the story.

I don’t remember whether I missed the last issue, or whether I’m just getting…hey, where am I?  How did I get on the Inter…right, so, I was a little lost at the beginning of the issue, but got caught up real quick.  Love the reveal about Ink & his tattoo artist, and his new tattoos, well, they could be a lot of fun.

I’m pretty certain I’ll remember this story by the time the next issue come out.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 2 - Average

  1. @akamuu, I agree with most of your review, and suspect that you must have actually missed/forgotten last issue because this one picked up pretty much where #8 left off.  I also enjoyed the New X-Men (Academy X) series, and have found this to be a suitable (albeit not quite as good, in my opinion) replacement.  The one big disagreement that I have with your review is your "2" rating on the art.  I thought that Sandoval knocked this out of the park and found that the art was really pulling me through the story.  Obviously "good" art is a very subjective thing, but for my money, this was the best art I’ve seen in this series yet.
