I was truly excited about
this comic once I got wind of it. I am a fan of the Artist Frasier
Irving from Batman and Robin and The Return of Bruce Wayne, but that was
the only thing that would be familiar about this comic for me. I dove
into it head first and I didn’t come up for air. If you are a fan of
this artist you will not be disappointed. The color scheme is great
throughout and the thick dark lines with very subtle shading is very
appealing to the eyes.  The story does not waste any time and quickly
creates the world in which David Kim belongs to. In the first few pages
there are several panels that show different supernatural events taking
place all over the world. You get the idea very quick that this is not a
Universe that you are accustomed to. This is not your typical DC
superhero here. This is a man who can manipulate natural elements, because
nanomachines exist within his skin. Xombi is “some sort of immortal
weirdness magnet” and it becomes very apparent, after a phone call from a
friend in Brazil, that this is true. The ride after is quite bizarre,
but quite refreshing. Enjoy.

  1. This book has always attacked super-heroics from strange and unexpected angles. Back in the Milestone days, it was just as loopy as it could be. It was, IMO, the best book in the company’s second wave of titles. Try to find back issues and you’ll see.
