I was never a fan of the later seasons of The X-Files. They had built up so many factions and given such little resolution that it wasn't worth getting invested in any more. It never seemed to end, and then it just ended anyway. I wouldn't say that Xenoholics has done the same thing, but for an issue that says "The End?" it's a lot more "?" than "The End." It's still a fun issue, and it clears up the various factions of the story -- aliens, humans pretending to be aliens, Cthulhu for some reason -- and sets up a pretty solid new status quo for the series. I'm not clear on whether this was supposed to be a miniseries or an ongoing; in either case, it not a very neat and tidy ending to the arc, and is a bit of an info-dump that could have been doled out a bit more gradually over the past few issues. I don't think this needed to be a twist to be satisfying, but it's a satisfying twist nonetheless. (I love that it straight-up acknowledges it's borrowing from Watchmen.) All in all, though, I'm glad I read this. I won't say I'm xenoholic, but I'm definitely xenophilic.
