Ok, I might be a bit biased, but this was a good start to the re-introduction of what I’ve always thought was one best ideas in comics. I mean, a thick-headed barbarian who obtains one of the most powerful weapons in the universe, and then ends up in the modern world. BRILLIANT.

As for the issue, it’s kind of a slow burn as its really only a setup for the badassery coming down the pike. For example, Aric doesn’t even obtain the armor in the issue. Compare that to page 4 of the original series. I guess that has more to do with the current writing style more than anything else…

The writing was enjoyable and the art was pretty darn good. The cover, however, was BEAUTIFUL! All in all, a really good issue and a promising beginning to the rebirth of a great character!
