First off, my vote for Cover of the Week, but the inside is something special too. This book is not exactly setting the comic world on fire, but it certainly gives a different look into the X-Universe. Since I’ve read Marvel: The Untold Story, I’ve on some level been putting Marvel comics in two columns. Kind of Gerber and Decidingly Not Gerber. This is falls in the first column. The awkward courting with Z-List mutant Blindfold and Legion is legitimately charming. Critically, the menace of this issue had as much persona as a D&D die roll random encounter, but the enigmatic “Xavier” was chilling and intriguing.

Side note: if all Marvel Now! Fans collectively signed a petition in which we agree to Join the R little e EVOLUTION, could we lose that stupid bottom banner?

  1. This is such a beautifully done comic. I love the “awkward courting,” and how it is “cheaper than a drive-in”. Spurrrier has made David Haller a very likeable character. The book is funny, the colors are AWESOME, and I smile every time I read it. Santi was fun (although apparently unconsequential ?) and I like the mysterious Professor X in his head too. It adds a nice mystery to the book, and there is that scent of fear/ turmoil/ chaos in most issues that remind you of the struggle and potential that is Legion. There is A LOT to like here. Nice review!
