I’ve been keeping away from most of the X books for a while, but in the comments of Wolverine & The X-Men, which I love and refuse to stay away from, KenOchalek mentioned that Gage and Baldeon’s X-Men Legacy had a complementary tone in both writing and art.

Based solely on this issue, I don’t see it.

This isn’t a bad book by any means. It just seems to fall in the mid-range X-book. I’ll buy it in trade because I’m a continuity addict, and because the plot seems important to the over all X-verse arc, but as a story it didn’t excite me.

I also don’t like the way Baldeon draws faces. I like every other aspect of his art, but the faces just don’t gibe with me.
