This issue seems more like a cash grab than a logical outgrowth of the rich tapestry that Carey has been trying to write so much as a "hey, let's get money of this big summer crossover."

It isn't that this book doesn't seem okay, it is fine if a little bland, it's just that you can tell that these guys were only written in because Fraction wanted Xavier involved in the crossover and the only way to logically do that was to involve these characters too.

 I mean, all the of the fighting here was just filler fights. I'm sure some major battle or something will happen next issue, but if it didn't I doubt anyone would notice.

 And speaking of people noticing, how many times is Gargan going to Venom up and no one will get a video or picture of it and find a way to leak it before Osborn showed up.

I knew that Rogue had a giant reset of her powers, but I didn't know she couldn't fly anymore. I'm actually a little disappointed that with all the power she has now, she can't contain Ares's power.

 I did like to see her using her mind to get away from Ms. Marvel. The Transformer line with Danger was mildly amusing. The art wasn't much of anything, just there.

 I do think that some of the characters, like the one that showed up with Onyx in the alleyway with Gambit and Dragoness, really need new designs.

 It was just a boring book that is making a slow storyline grind to a halt so it can be inaffective in an additional crossover.
