Mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I never found Juggernaut to be all that interesting a character until Chuck Austen got his hands on him (I know, I know, everyone hates on Austen, but, while he is far from my favorite writer in the history of the X-verse, his arc on Uncanny was much more readable and interesting than the Millligan’s run on X-Men).  So many reformed X-villain stories are dull and, obviously, a setup for their treachery: Mystique, Magneto, Mystique, Sabertooth, Mystique, etc..  You wait for Charles or Scott to say “But we welcomed you into our home!” and shake their fists at the betrayal.

I really thought Juggy was going to stay reformed longer than Emma Frost, joining Rogute in the actually reformed villains club.  And then, at some point, after Excalibur was, mercifully, put to sleep, Juggs decided to go all evil again, in order to get his power back.  Somewhere in fishy hell, little Sammy is crying.

Well, Jugs is bad in this issue, but his 1/2 brother Professor X is determined to see good in him.  But he’s bad, right?  Oh, so bad.  How will this attempt to turn out?  Will we see a rereformed Juggernaut, or will he rererecripple Professor X?  Will we care?

This issue answers some of those questions.  And, while it’s not as cut and dry as it seems, the issue really didn’t have any Oh Shit moments for me.
