I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. Legion is a character I know next to nothing about because I’ve never cared for him. This book has crafted a great intro to the surprising protagonist as well as an intriguing launching pad for the story. I found it a bit slow at first because I couldn’t figure out what was going on but once I was on board I found the Qortex Complex to be a fun representation of poor David’s inner demons. The art was hit and miss but when it hit I was in love with the style and expression thrown into some of the panels. I’ve been sampling all of Marvel Now! and this has been the biggest surprise for of books that I’ll be coming back for a second helping of.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. One of the few samplings of which I partook, and I too was happily surprised by it. #2 in two weeks: should be good. These NOW books have had such generic intro issues its hard to score them higher than a 3, but the potential is here for a solid run of 4 and 5s.

  2. I thought this was anything but generic. This reminded me of the kind of Marvel comics that Morrison and Ellis used to write. Can’t wait for #2.
