It’s interesting to see someone make use of Milligan’s horrible Blood Of Apocalypse storyline. I never really enjoyed Gambit as Death. Here it’s….tentatively interesting. This isn’t a spectacular issue, but I’m curious to see how Yost wraps this all up.
Tolibad’s art is barely sufficient. His faces look like masks, and he makes really poor choices of when to break panels. In fact, most of his layouts look like they were pasted together on the page just minutes before a deadline.

lol. I fucking loved that Milligan run.
Ewwww. Really? I thought it was incredibly derivative and not at all in an interesting way. Apocalypse turns an X-Man into Death? And it’s Gambit? And then Havok and Polaris go chase after Doop, which is never really resolved? I stopped reading X-Men for months because of that run.

Hahahaha. You are well within your rights to enjoy it. Personally, I thought it was worse than the Chuck Austen run.

Did you like his X-Force/X-Statix run?
Never read it. You’ve got to remember, I started reading in Jan of ’08. I hadn’t read comics since ’90/91, so I missed out on a lot of material. Do you recommend it?

@CaseyJustice: I know, I know, the world hates the Austen run, and it’s easy to hate. But at least his stories attempted to do something different. Milligan’s stories failed, too, and he was just ripping off previous X-Men arcs.
@vadamowens: I didn’t like them, but I didn’t like his X-Men run, either. If you did enjoy Doop, you should check it out.
I liked X-Statix but did not like his X-men stuff. The X-Statix mocked everything mutant and superhero but was wacky Allred fun at the same time. The X-men stuff was "for real" and Milligan is not meant for main stream super hero comics.
