Oh, joy it's another installment of, hey, why is Chris Claremont still
writing comics?
I know that everyone who is reading this series with me is doing it out of being the huge X-nerd that needs to have everything, but I'm begging you, please, stop. Just stop.
I know I don't have the will power to stop reading this, but I beg you to find it in yourself to walk away.
It isn't that it's bad and cliche and just plain boring, it's the fact that if things like this become popular we'll get more. Creators that got the shaft will be returning to characters that had moved on and we'll get more 50 issue weeks from Marvel.
Okay enough of the preaching.
This issue had another one of those moments that used to be so prevelent back in the Claremont's hey day. This issue the team fought Sabertooth and when Cyclops came running into the room, he said "he's one the team's deadliest villains" or something to that effect. I understand that maybe he's assuming Gambit hasn't met Victor yet, but for the love of god, he's got sharp claws and is fighting storm. Did we need this proclamation? Would the team not have figured he needed to be fought if not for this information?
The art was decent, except for seeing Logan's corpse. I'm sure there is a valid reason that his mask and hair survived when everything else was burned off, but I mean really, that just looks retarded.
This book is not going to get better, and eventually the nostalgia shine is going to fade into the reality patina.
