Brian Wood continues his trend of being very good at writing female characters. Well, female characters who are not Kitty, anyways. While I really enjoyed this book from cover to cover and I love that he brought back Sublime, there were parts of Kitty’s dialogue I could not really handle. I can’t picture the Kitty of today actually phonetically pronouncing any text message jargon, but hey, that’s just me, and maybe the only reason I’m complaining is because the other book she is featured prominently in is written by Jason Aaron. Aside from the minor dialogue nitpicks, I quite enjoyed the groundwork that this is laying for the series, and am interested to pick up more, and on the art side Coipel is just drawing the hell out of it, as is per usual for him. A final note, was Jubilee cured of Vampirism in some story I never read, or are we just choosing to forget that happened? Either way I’m totally cool with it.
Art: 5 - Excellent
According to the solicits, she’s still at least somewhat vampiric. I imagine it’ll be important later.
