Kyle and Yost have written some of the more popular X-books in the last five years.  So it’s very telling that Marvel didn’t bother to put their names on this cover.  In fact, the creative team doesn’t get mentioned at all until the last page.  If I were them, I’d try and keep this book a secret, too.  The story itself is ok.  It focuses on the relationship between Wolverine and Domino, with a little bit of Elixir and some assassins thrown in.  Nothing earth-shatteringly good, but certainly better than average.  Gabrielle Dell’Otto’s art, on the other hand is wildly inconsistent.

My complaint for most of the X-Force run is how dark the color palette is.  You can rarely tell which character is which.    Well, the palette lightened up for this issue, and, boy, do I wish it stayed dark.  The poses are ridiculous.  The costumes are inconsistent from one panel to the next.  He is generally a good artist.  I’ve enjoyed his covers for Annihilation, and even his cover here is good.  There are even flashes of brilliance scattered throughout this book, but between those flashes are rushed panels that pulled me right out of the story.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 3 - Good
